Most of the kids hate vegetables. But vegetables the good source of vitamins and minerals and is essential for a healthy life. So let us think how can we make the children to eat vegetables in a quite different way.
Get ready for a healthy Soup!
Soup
Ingredients
Toor dal/ Moongdal 1 cup 150g
Chilly 1[if it is not spicy you can add 2 or 3]
Curry leaves/ Coriander leaves as per your wish[ Don't add too much]
Chop these vegetables
Carrot 1
Brinjal 2
Spinach (any) 150g
Small Onion(Shallots) 7-10
Water 3-4 cups
Method Of Preparation
First pressure cook Toordal/Moongdal for 3 minutes with all the vegetables. Then Mash this with a spoon. If it is too thick add little hot water. You can serve as it is. But some children don't like this. So let us sieve(filter) the juice using strainer with somewhat large hole. Now the Soup is ready.
Final Preparation[If your child likes Mustard seeds, Leaves and Shallots]
Heat 1 table spoon Oil or Ghee and splutter 2 T spoons Mustard seeds, a few Curry leaves or Coriander leaves and 1Spoon chopped Shaallots. Pour it on the Soup. It goes well with Rice and Pappadam

One Useful Tip
When the weather is too hot This Soup gets spoiled after short time. To avoid this add a little tamarind juice.
